Yesterday I wrote you news that updated version of RedSn0w 0.9.10b8b was launched by iPhone Dev-Team. This updated tool brings minor updates and is good for Windows users. For more info go here. So let’s try it! Today I want to show you how to jailbreak your iPad 2 or iPad 1 using RedSn0w 0.9.10b8b on Mac and Windows. All you have to do is to follow my steps. But first you must check compatibility of your iOS to untethered and semi-untethered jailbreak.
You may know that iPhone Dev-Team has recently released updated RedSn0w 0.9.10b8b that brings minor fixes. And now I want to show you how to jailbreak iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS running iOS 5.1 and lower. I have to tell you that his jailbreak isn’t untethered for iOS 5.1 and iOS 5. You can only jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 untethered, other iOS firmware versions can be jailbroken semi-tethered. Also if your use iPhone 3GS on the old bootrom then you can perform untethered jailbreak on all iOS firmware.
An hour ago I wrote a guide on how to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and 5.0 on iPad, iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch using iFaith. (The full guide you can find here). But this method is not working on iPad 2, because you can downgrade iOS 5.1 on iPad 2 to iOS 4.3.5 and below. So I decided to write you a guide on how to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 4.3.5 and below.
This post is for those who has accidently updated your iOS to latest iOS 5.1 and wanted to downgrade it. Why, first of all because there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 (latest news about that read here) and the second can be your own reason to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and lower.
Seems like we have a new player on iPhone 4S unlock arena. Meet iAperio SIM that is able to unlock iPhone 4S. This unlocking solution allows to unlock iPhone 4S GSM version fully automatically. That means user doesn’t have to dial 112 or do some other operations. This unlocking method appears to be not only very simple to use but stable as well. One of iAperio’s team members says:
The new iOS 5.1 appeared on Apple event on March 7 together with Apple TV and the new iPad 3. We’ve already warned all the jailbreakers and people who don’t rely on carrier unlock to stay away from upgrading to iOS 5.1 and keep the jailbroken iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.0. The main reason to stay on iOS 5.0.1 is the fact that it’s the last iOS with untethered jailbreak available. The only way to fix this is to Downgrade iOS 5.1 to 5.0.1/5.0.
UltraSn0w 1.2.5 was released just a couple of months ago in order to unlock the iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1 firmware on the 01.59.00. baseband. An unknown hacker @hamzah_akram about which we haven’t heard until today seems to be working on an unlock for baseband 04.11.08 for iPhone 4 running the latest iOS 5.0.1. This baseband software iPhone unlock doesn’t looks fake to many of us, because Hamzah doesn’t require any donations as well as the iPhone 4 unlock package will be available in the form of DEB package on Cydia. Here is what Hamzah has commented on React0r release. Update: use our guide on how to unlock iPhone 4 baseband 04.11.08 on iOS 5.0.1 using Reactor.
