By coincidence, Apple did not include this function in a regular music app in iOS, so a new tweak Scale will be very welcome.
JailbreakCon 2012 in San Francisco was very informative. I know that there are many who were disappointed because there was no iOS 6 jailbreak announced and we have to wait a very long time. However there is good news for iOS in general. Developers of Cydia tweaks not doing this because of love but also to earn some income. And it is not a news. Just yesterday I posted an article about earnings. Cydia made 8 million bucks selling tweaks and apps. That’s why there were some interesting new appearance of apps for jailbroken devices and I got five best tweaks for you.
JailbreakCon 2012 gathered in San Francisco a huge number of stars from jailbreak community. Also Jay Freeman aka Saurik, Cydia creator, was noticed at the conference. From the South San Francisco scene Jay told some interesting details about the alternative app stores Cydia. It is no secret that some of the tweaks in Cydia sell for money like in the official App Store. Many people wonder whether it is possible to earn a living in the creation and promotion of tweaks, or is it nothing more than a hobby? Clear answer to this question we have not received, but Saurik said that over the past year, developers of informal programs for iOS earned around eight million dollars.
A new development – Monocle Cydia tweak brought by us by Ryan Petrich, a developer well-known in the jailbreak community. The tweak allows to include the full-screen mode for all applications on the iPhone. Monocle in contrast to other similar Cydia tweaks tweaks provides a true full-screen mode, hiding not only the status bar, but the navigation bar, tab menu and toolbar interface of the standard iOS layout.
A Cydia Tweak called AnyBrowser appeared on the jailbreak store yesterday. Basically it allows you to open a web-browser (not Safari) from your lockscreen. If you often need to search something on the internet and you need it quickly, opening Safari on the iPhone may seem like a very long process – it needs to either unlock the screen, or close the current application and then tap on the icon of your browser. It is much more convenient if it would be a simple gesture to activate the browser, including a locked screen.
Good news for those who love changing the interface of the iOS Springboard – Dashboard X 2.0 is ready for download! The original Dashboard X tweak was really groundbreaking because it allowed to have widgets on your iPad’s or iPhone’s homescreen and that was really cool. However the first version had some issues and problems. For instance when you switched the iPad from landscape to portrait and backwards the widgets kinda jumped around and the 2.0 version of the Cydia tweak fixes it.
