It Is Confirmed That The New iPhone Will Use LTE 4G Network
Remember I wrote you long ago that iPhone 5 might be compatible with LTE technology and would use 4G network? Today this rumor became true and I could prove it.
The two largest mobile operator in South Korea SK Telecom and KT told reporters of Korean Times that the new iPhone from Apple will get a module of the 4G network LTE. For the first of Apple products which supports LTE-networks is the next-gen iPad debuted in March 2012.
Fourth-generation networks of different operators in different countries operate on different frequencies. Therefore not many will be able to take advantage of that even if the declared support of LTE in iPhone 5 will be supported. For example, Verizon LTE network operates at 700 MHz, while AT & T has both 700 MHz and 2.1 GHz networks. Also you may know that AT&T shutdown 2G to free space for 4G network.
According to the KT publication, the journalists are already negotiating with Apple, offering to include support for 1.8 GHz frequency range to be compatible with iPhone 5. Also SK Telecom insists that the new phone should be able to operate at 800 MHz.
Additionally, one of the main problems of compatible LTE iPad 3 is unsuitable for use in high speed 4G networks around the world. The tablet supports only US frequency of 700 MHz and 2100 MHz, and therefore is not compatible with either the European or the other networks as well as local operators deploying LTE at other frequencies.
Because of the incompatibility iPad 3 LTE networks in Europe and Australia, Apple was forced to change the marketing policy (to refuse the notation 4» in promotional materials unit, replacing it with the Cellular) and send a letter of explanation to users who have already purchased a gadget inviting them to return the money if claims remain.
However there is news that 70% of users want to buy iPhone 5 because of LTE compatibility and I already wrote you about that.
