Forget About Tethered or Untethered iOS 6.1 Jailbreak
There is still no jailbreaking solution for iOS 6.0 / 6.0.1 but many folks are wondering about iOS 6.1 jailbreak and its future possibilities. Well, I got bad news from i0n1c about iOS 6.1 jailbreak status.
A week ago Apple has rolled out another test, the fourth beta version of the operating system iOS 6.1 for developers. But if you have not developer account you can download iOS 6.1 beta 4 using direct links. This is the last beta version for developers officially released by the company before public iOS 6.1 release somewhere in January.
But there is no reason to enjoy the upcoming release, in particular this applies to people who are waiting for jailbreak. According to the hacker i0n1c, who participated in the creation of untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3, Apple has strengthened protection against iOS 6.1 jailbreaking, so update to this firmware after its release is not recommended.
Today, i0n1c wrote in his twitter that Apple had made some changes in iOS 6.1 adding better protection, although jailbreak community did not even cracked iOS 6.
The hacker did not specify what exactly has changed in the new OS, which was still possible to jailbreak A4 devices (iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad and iPod Touch 4g). But the fact that the company is even more harder working on protection from iOS 6.1 jailbreak untethered is really bad news for many users.
Last untethered jailbreak, which allows you to free your device without connecting to a computer, is available for firmware iOS 5.1.1 and it is absinthe 2.x. The sixth version of the Apple can not be jailbroken on most mobile devices. At the moment, there is no public-jailbreak exploit for any devices running iOS 6, except for iPhone 4/3GS and iPod touch 4G.
However, I think that you will be able to jailbreak iOS 6.1 tethered on A4 devices as well but you will need to forget about iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak.
Earlier i0n1c said that the public version of the exploit to jailbreak iOS 6/6.0.1 we will never see. According to him, the users need to accept that fact that iOS 6.0/6.0.1 as well as iOS 6.1 jailbreak will never be.
