Despite the worldwide popularity of Evasi0n tool allowing to jailbreak iOS 6 and iOS 6.1.2, Apple took a decision to terminate the “season of gifts” for fans of iOS hacking. A day ago, the Cupertino company released iOS 6.1.3 update and you download it now. But if you want to keep jailbreak you need to know that iOS 6.1.3 fixed the vulnerability used by Evasi0n, and thus making the tool useless for the new firmware.

Also iOS 6.1.3 increased iOS security before jailbreak and also improved maps of Japan and fix a bug, leads to the possibility of obtaining unauthorized access to the device protected password. But there is news that another bug found in 6.1.3 to bypass passcode.

Note: It is highly recommended to start downgrading process on factory unlocked iPhone because there is no guarantee that you will keep unlock while the process.

As we found out more about iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak we can talk about iOS 6.1.3 downgrade.

Update: First you can use iFaith to downgrade 6.1.3 after dumping SHSH blobs and creating custom firmware for iOS 6.1.2.

One developer, being a team member of Evaders, hacker MuscleNerd, announced that iOS 6.1.3 closes the vulnerabilities that have been used to develop a tool. But what ids the most important here is that you can not downgrade to iOS 6.1.2, without or even with saved SHSH for latest iDevices. Supported iDevices for iOS 6.1.3 Downgrade

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 3GS
  • iPod Touch

Once you have SHSH blobs saved using TinyUmbrella or Redsn0w or it is saved on Cydia servers after latest jailbreak find out how to stitch a “Custom IPSW with blobs” using Redsn0w for Mac and Windows. After which you will restore iPhone via iTunes using custom IPSW. Also you need to know that it will preserve your iPhone baseband.

Downgrade iOS 6.1.3 iPhone 4, 3GS to iOS 6.1.2 / 6.0 With Blobs Saved

Step 1. Download and run the latest Redsn0w (you can try 0.9.15b3 version but as became known it is not supported on Windows or Mac computer.

Step 2. This step is necessary for iPhone users who want to keep baseband unlock. First build a No_BB IPSW using Sn0wbreeze that supports custom firmware creating for iOS 6.1.2 using iFaith Mode as well.

Note: If you are tired of performing all these steps again and again, just unlock iOS 6.1.3 using IMEI now! Forget about compatible or not compatible baseband, firmware and messing with hacks and enjoy factory unlocked iPhone using any Sim card, iOS version and baseband type.

In case you are iPad or iPod Touch 4G user, ignore this task.

Step 3. Now go to Extras => SHSH blobs => Stitch.

Step 4. Locate the IPSW for firmware version you need to downgrade from iOS 6.1.3. iPhone users choose custom No_BB IPSW you might make in Step 2.

Step 5. Click Local and choose the saved SHSH blobs on your computer earlier, or click Cydia to use blobs saved on Cydia’s servers.

Step 6. Redsn0w will begin creating your signed IPSW. It will likely be saved in the same folder where other IPSW files were saved.

Step 7. Now enter Pwned DFU mode with redsn0w or iREB. In redsn0w, go back to Extras and click on Pwned DFU. iReb is good to fix restore error in iTunes as well.

Step 8. Open iTunes and holding Shift on Windows and Option (Alt) on Mac click the Restore button.

Step 9. Now just choose the IPSW you need to downgrade to: iOS 6.1.2 or NO_BB.

Now just sit back and relax till iTunes restore your iPhone to iOS 6.1.2 and downgrade iPhone 4, 3GS and iPad from iOS 6.1.3 at the same time. After just use evasi0n 1.5.3 to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 and enjoy your favored tweaks again.

Successfully downgrade from 6.1.3 to 4.1 on iphone 3Gs

    Here is my procedure:

    Open redsnow connect your Iphone

Go to Extras > Even More > downgrade

Select IPSW to be restored ( at this stage local blob option is not available)

Click Next after a while local blob option becomes available

Click local blob and select SHSH blob of your IPSW to be restored

Again click next and wait for completion.

Congrates now you are on your previous version.

After restoring again connect your iphone to redsnow for Jailbreak.

Select Cydia and Ipad baseband or downgrade to baseband.

Install redsnow 1.2.7 or 1.2.8 from cydia or manually for No service isssue.

    That's all !

And If you stuck on itune logo after restoring then use Tiny Umberalla and restore your previous version using itunes.

    This also works !

Will this downgrade process work for my iPad 2?

  4. Guest says:

This process does not work as RedSn0w will not be able to "stitch" the 6.1.2 firmware since it doesn't recognize it.

  5. Techno says:

I am not sure but you should try this. Hope it will work

  7. roktimratul says:

Redsnow 915b3 doesn't support iOS 6.0.1 or later. It only supports iOS 6.0…..so it's impossible to Downgrade iOS 6.1.3 to any other version using redsnow(iOS 5,4,3 can be downgraded).

  8. Michael says:

You can't downgrade to 6.1.2…..Try downgrading it using that method and you'll be stock in recovery loop…

    hey guys,

I just want to make a quick question. if I don't have my baseband unlocked and just want to downgrade should I also skip the first to steps?

    thanks in advance

  10. Globe says:

You can ALWAYS downgrade to inferior version ONLY with shsh blobs files saved. That's not the question here. THE QUESTION IS that it's impossible to dowgrade since the 6.1 version !!! SO, THIS TUTORIAL IS USELESS !! is it true ? what about a step by step tutorial, how to configure the host files during itunes updates, ? if i follow this method, i always end up with itune errors (1600, 3194, 20, etc). Did you ever tested it on a iphone 4 ? because the 3gs is full of holes and backdoors, so it's easy to jailbreak :) now the ipnhone 4 and especially the 4S AND the 5 it's another story…

  11. Globe says:

Ok, so prove it with some pictures !. Your method doesn't work for iphone 4, mate ! maybe for 3gs :) how to fool the apple server with the downgrade ? please, stop macking web pages with the magical stuff explained, if you didn' tried yourself on some real hardware :) . Does it REALLY work ? really ?
