Downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and 5.0 with iFaith [How to]
This post is for those who has accidently updated your iOS to latest iOS 5.1 and wanted to downgrade it. Why, first of all because there is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 (latest news about that read here) and the second can be your own reason to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1 and lower.
Here I show you how to downgrade iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1/5. However, you can’t downgrade iOS 5.1 on iPhone 4S. So when it is possible to SHSH blobs and APTicket on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad (first-gen) and iPod Touch you can downgrade iOS 5.1. If you are iPad 2 user then you can downgrade iOS 5.1 only to iOS 4.x as long as you have saved SHSH blobs for it.
If you don’t know how to save SHSH blobs then go here and do it quickly using TinyUmbrella 5.10.12.
Remember: This method works only if you have saved APTicket and SHSH blobs for iOS 5.0.1 and 5.0 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad and iPod Touch. This method doesn’t work on iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
