Meet “Apple Rus” – Apple Store In Russia!
Apple registered in Russia its own retailer “Apple Rus” as a source in one of the official distributors of the corporation. Its main activities – wholesale and retail sale of iPhone, iPad, Mac computers and other iDevices. Thus, the Cupertino company was able to trade in computer equipment in Russia without intermediaries.
Apple Holding BV owns 99.5% of “Apple Rus”. The remaining shares are held by the Irish Apple Distributio. The authorized capital of “Apple Rus” is 3.3 million rubles (almost $105 000), the financial results were not disclosed. Cupertino company may begin direct wholesale sales in Russia in 2013.

The group of companies ECS promoted Apple products in Russia in 1996-2007. The ECS was based by Yevgeny Butman and currently controlled by the president of IT-holding “Lanit” Gregory Gens. In 2007, Apple opened a representative office in Russia, which was engaged in marketing activities. In 2008, Cupertino company has its first official distributor of computers – diHouse (included in “LANIT”). Second distributor appeared in November 2009 – the company “Marvel”, in May 2012 – the third – the company OCS. 75% of production goes through Apple diHouse. Distribute iPhone in Russia since 2008, engaged in “VimpelCom” and MTS.
“Apple Rus” likely will focus on the delivery of technology in the retail network in Moscow and St. Petersburg. According to the Moscownews, the other three distributors will work in the regions. It is possible that “Apple Rus” will supply Russia the new iPhone. It was said by the head of one of the Apple distributors. According to him, Apple Inc. was dissatisfied with the existing scheme of supply through “VimpelCom” and MTS. He explained that operators are interested in selling the iPhone in their salons rather on the broad market.
Apple currently operates 372 Apple Store, 123 of them are located outside the U.S.. In Russia, the Apple Store is still not open.
